Military webbing from Smart Ikhaya is engineered for conditions where ordinary materials fail. Built from ultra-high tenacity polyester yarn, it delivers exceptional UV stability, resists mould and rotting, and holds firm against chemical contaminants and sustained mechanical stress.
Available in a range of colours with light-fast and UV-stable pigments. Normally supplied in 100m rolls, with personalised printing and branding available on request. Longer lengths available to special order.
Woven in South Africa by an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer. A test certificate per batch is available on request.

What weave types are available in military webbing?
Military webbing from Smart Ikhaya is available in flat weave, pocket weave, and pebble weave – each suited to specific applications in tent, seam tape, and backpack webbing respectively.
What is the maximum break strength available?
The maximum is 1 300 kg, reached by two codes: C2080, the 25mm flat weave tent seam tape, and C1827, the 50mm pebble weave backpack webbing. Break strength is the load at which a new sample breaks under test, not a safe working load.
Is C3 proofing standard or optional?
C3 proofing is available as a specific product option – certain codes (such as C2271 and C2080) are C3 proofed as part of their construction. Other codes are supplied in standard or dyed finish. Specialist finishes such as flame retardancy, anti-static, and Teflon coatings are available on request.
What is the difference between tent webbing and backpack webbing?
Tent webbing uses flat and pocket weave constructions with UV stability and quick-drying properties for seam tape and structural applications. Backpack webbing uses a pebble weave pattern engineered for maximum tensile strength with low elongation and shrinkage, specifically for load-bearing harness and pack applications.

Which webbing for collars, harnesses or straps that live outside?
C1826, the 38 mm military backpack webbing. For a strap that hangs on an animal or sits in sun, rain and sweat every day, strength is not the problem: any webbing here carries a few kilograms many times over. What matters is that it does not rot, fade or go slack when wet, and that it stitches cleanly and holds a buckle without fraying. C1826 is polyester, UV stabilised and rot proof, with a 1 200 kg break strength and a dense pebble weave that sews well and does not distort under hardware. It is supplied on 100 m rolls, in black or olive green. Ask us for the 19 mm, 25 mm or 50 mm width if the hardware needs it.
