Common Questions
Military Webbing FAQ
What weave types are available in military webbing?
Military webbing from Smart Ikhaya is available in flat weave, pocket weave, and pebble weave — each suited to specific applications in tent, seam tape, and backpack webbing respectively.
What is the maximum break strength available?
The maximum break strength in our military webbing range is 1 350 kg, achieved in the 25mm flat weave tent seam tape (code C2080).
Is C3 proofing standard or optional?
C3 proofing is available as a specific product option — certain codes (such as C2271 and C2080) are C3 proofed as part of their construction. Other codes are supplied in standard or dyed finish. Specialist finishes such as flame retardancy, anti-static, and Teflon coatings are available on request.
What is the difference between tent webbing and backpack webbing?
Tent webbing uses flat and pocket weave constructions with UV stability and quick-drying properties for seam tape and structural applications. Backpack webbing uses a pebble weave pattern engineered for maximum tensile strength with low elongation and shrinkage, specifically for load-bearing harness and pack applications.
Do you supply military webbing wholesale in South Africa?
Yes. Smart Ikhaya supplies military webbing wholesale to manufacturers, procurement offices, and tactical gear fabricators across South Africa and the SADC region from our Midrand warehouse.
