LEATHER PROCESSING & STORAGE
- Maintain internal humidity of 10-12% and process temperatures ≤60°C to preserve mechanical properties.
- Do not stack hides or finished furniture under heavy weight.
- Store hides in dry ambient conditions (15-40°C).
- Avoid solvents, lotions, heat guns, shrink wrapping, or any materials that could react with the leather.
- Natural growth features, colour variations, scars, and insect bites are normal and indicate authenticity.
- Initial leather smell is typical. Colour and structure may vary slightly from samples.
LEATHER CARE
- Keep leather away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent fading or surface deterioration – full aniline leather is more sensitive to UV than pigmented grades.
- Use only leather cleaners and conditioners formulated for aniline or pure aniline leather. Avoid solvents, multi-purpose cleaning agents, or anything not specifically recommended for uncoated leather.
- Test any cleaning product on a hidden area first before applying broadly.
- Treat spills immediately: blot with a clean dry cloth – do not rub. Then gently wipe with a barely damp white cloth from the outer edge inward. Allow to dry naturally away from heat.
- Condition with a quality aniline leather conditioner to maintain suppleness and prevent drying or cracking, particularly in low-humidity environments.
- For domestic furniture, clean and condition at least every six months.
- For contract or automotive applications, maintain on a schedule suited to frequency of use.
