Perfect for both domestic and contract furniture, including sofas, armchairs, and bespoke upholstered pieces. Its semi-aniline finish provides a consistent, elegant appearance with a natural two-tone effect, delivering both style and resilience for furniture that is meant to last.
Leather Processing & Storage
Made from exotic bovine hides using chrome tanning, Tambotie is finished as a semi-aniline leather to ensure a consistent yet natural look. The leather is tested for rub fastness, flexing endurance, tear and tensile strength, colour fastness, and finishing adhesion to guarantee performance and longevity. Hides should be stored with 10-12% internal humidity in a dry environment (15-40°C), avoiding excessive weight, heat sources, shrink-wrapping, or any materials that may react with the leather. Natural marks such as scars or growth variations are a sign of genuine leather and should be expected.
Leather Care
To maintain Tambotie leather’s appearance and durability: Keep furniture away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Use recommended leather cleaners and protectors only; avoid multi-purpose cleaning products. Treat stains promptly by dabbing with blotting paper, gently cleaning with a damp cloth from outside to inside, drying, and polishing with a soft cloth. For domestic furniture, clean and re-protect at least every six months. For contract furniture, follow a regular maintenance program based on usage.
